# Net Force and Translational Equilibrium
Net force is the vector sum of all individual forces in a system. 

Translational equilibrium is when it equals to zero. The derived equation is $\Sigma \vec{F}=0$

# Newton’s First Law
Unless an external force acts on an object, an object in motion stays in motion and an object at rest stays at rest.

To confirm, observers would need an inertial reference frame (a reference frame still or moving at a constant rate), acceleration would make it look like there are forces that aren't there.
